100% pure organic rosehip oil100% pure, undiluted, with an amber hue. Harvested in Scotland and certified organic by Soil Association UK.
Europe is currently facing a shortage of rosehip as the fruit is generally grown for food and tea. Most commercial rosehip oil are sourced from South America and South Africa. Not all rosehip is created equal, that thick orangey rosehip oil that you buy off the shelves with 2-3 years expiry are typically diluted with lots of synthetic vitamin E (hence the stickiness) and some that we have seen in respectable departmental stores are even blended with other vegetable oil. We can't stress this enough -- Read the Label and Ingredient List!
The extraction method used for this rosehip oil is registered with the Soil Association (UK) to pass the standard for an organic production method. The deodorisation process is basically a steam cleaning process of the oil that creates a more or less smell-free oil. Genuine rosehip is a super food for the skin because it's the only natural vegetable oil that contains natural tretinoin, the acid form of vitamin A. This particular rosehip oil that we've sourced for you is unique. It contains a high level of vitamin C and is extremely effective for skin brightening, scars treatment, reducing pigmentation and zapping the occasional breakout fast.
**USEFUL FACT -- Pure rosehip oil is extremely fragile and typically has a shelf-life of only 3 to 6 months. We have added 0.5% vitamin E to extent the product lifespan to about 8-12 months. Mass market rosehip oil generally contain a high amount of vitamin E (natural and/or synthetic), preservatives and/or a blend of vegetable oil. This may explain why they are often sticky on application and take some time to fully absorb.
