New Zealand honey is world renowned for its quality and purity, especially Manuka Honey. There are so many Kiwi honey brands out there but these are my 2 favourites. They are not big brands that made it to export market so you may not find them outside New Zealand.

(1) Waireka Honey is a local family owned business on the Himatangi Straights. Its our family's favourite, no road trip on State Highway 1 is complete without a stopover at this yellow honey shop. They process and bottle their own honey in simple packaging, so savings is reflected on product cost.

(2) Mount Somers on the other hand, is a branded honey from Ashburton in the South Island. Among the brands in Te Waipounamu, Mount Somers is the best of the rest, a high quality honey with everyday value. Its chocolate honey are crafted by master creamers producing the smoothest honey with superior texture, viscosity, crystal size, and excellent taste.
